UN Biodiversity Conference COP17: ongoing negotiations

The seventeenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity takes place in Yerevan from October 19 to 30. Governments, scientific organizations, civil society and Indigenous representatives gather around the implementation of international biodiversity commitments and the protection of ecosystems.

The continuing negotiations are well suited to comparing institutional announcements with scientific analysis and civil society reporting. A dashboard can follow the official agenda alongside independent accounts of finance, conservation and implementation questions. Side events have separate schedules and should not be confused with negotiating decisions. Any claim that an agreement has been adopted must be checked against official conference documentation.
