Bandi Chhor Divas 2026

Tanenbaum's interfaith calendar material places Bandi Chhor Divas on 8 November 2026. The Sikh observance has its own religious meaning even when it coincides with Diwali.

Community explanations and the published programme can help audiences understand both the meaning of the observance and its local expression. Official religious coverage, public broadcasting and local journalism offer complementary perspectives. Ceremonies, travel arrangements and community gatherings have different schedules, so a country or city focus can make the coverage easier to follow. Present Sikh community explanations and verified gurdwara programmes rather than treating different religious traditions as interchangeable celebrations.
